Myria — Exclusive DigitsClub AMA
Missed the exclusive DigitsClub AMA with the Myria team? In this article you can find the full recap of this exciting session with Myria and the DigitsClub.
Myria is an expansive blockchain gaming ecosystem and Layer 2 scaling solution. It combines a gaming platform with applications tools and the scaling infrastructure to bring blockchain gaming to life. Myria has its own gaming studio — Myria Studios.
Their vision is to use blockchain to enhance the power of play and make blockchain gaming accessible and fun for everyone.
A lot of people are seeking to compare Myria with other big market players, though there are certain key differences between them:
- Myria has near zero gas when it comes to NFT trading.
- Myria is aiming at building AAA free-to-play and play-and-earn games.
- Their future perspective in gaming is interoperable and interlinked NFTs.
- Myria is building a ‘Steam-like’ experience, where players can access all their favorite games and partner games in the same place.
- With the help of Myria Studios, developers can potentially launch their own games within the Myria Ecosystem.
Tokenomics
The supply cap will be completely locked, i.e. 50,000,000,000 $MYRIA tokens will be released over a 60 month period from the token launch over a predetermined schedule. No additional tokens will ever be released. The token will not be inflationary over the long term.
The token will have utility in a few key ways, e.g. protocol fees and marketplace fees will need to be paid in $MYRIA.
A bulk of the tokens will enter the ecosystem via Node Rewards (40% of released tokens). There is a five-year plan of releasing these rewards to Nodes. After that, the idea is to reward the Nodes with the incoming revenue from network fees.
Nodes will do a variety of network activities, including the validation of transactions. Nodes will be executable files that can run, either on a computer or in a cloud environment, for ~6 hours per day. There will be 50,000 Nodes available.
In order to get these Nodes, whitelists will be announced. You should also watch out for a big community event coming soon.
The Myria Team is now over 100 people, and 50% of them are devoted to engineering. The plan for the next 6 months is to double this number. Anybody who is interested in joining the team may visit the Myria Careers page.
